The prototype: The Rh 242 of the ČD
The Rh 242, originally developed as the S499.02, is an electric locomotive used by České dráhy (ČD) for freight and passenger service. In Era VI (from 2007), these locomotives were modernized and repainted to meet the increased requirements of international rail transport. Their striking appearance and versatility make them a symbol of modern railroad technology.
