The three-part "Karlsruhe Train" set consists of the 141 248-5 electric locomotive and two matching German Federal Railroad commuter cars. The unusual ocean blue/beige paint scheme is striking - an experimental paint scheme that was a real eye-catcher in Era IV. The set includes a class Bnrzb 725 2nd class car as a replacement car and a class BDnrzf 740 control car. This combination was exemplary for the modern local transportation of the 1970s and 80s.

The class 141 electric locomotive is equipped with a powerful 5-pole motor and is impressive in digital operation with extensive functions such as separately controlled headlights and marker lights as well as digitally controlled cab lighting. The control car also has its own PluX16 interface and is equipped with a decoder. This means that lighting functions can also be controlled separately digitally here. All of the cars are equipped with detailed interior fittings - both in the passenger compartment and in the driver's cab of the control car.

The digital sound package provides an authentic soundscape and enhances the realistic overall impression of the train. The models are designed for the AC system and are therefore ideal for Märklin-compatible layouts. The combination with the add-on cars, item no. 64175, is especially recommended to represent the typical Karlsruhe train in its full length.
