Roco 1st/2nd class ABme passenger coach - TT, DR, Era IV

The Roco 6280031 is a prototypical 1st/2nd class passenger coach type Y/B-70, class ABme, of the Deutsche Reichsbahn. With authentic coloring, fine printing and a detailed interior, it brings the atmosphere of the DR passenger trains of Era IV to the TT layout.

Design & workmanship

The model shows the type Y/B-70 in the typical Era IV design. As a combined 1st/2nd class coach (type ABme), it was versatile and offered passengers both classes in one coach. Clean imprints, finely executed details and a realistic interior make the model particularly authentic.

Technology & equipment

The car has an interior and is designed for DC analog operation. Interior lighting (item no. 4080001) can be retrofitted. With NEM 358 coupler pockets and close coupler kinematics, reliable coupling in tight radii is possible without any problems. The car is long to scale and provides a realistic train appearance.

Historical background

The type Y/B-70 coaches were among the standard passenger coaches of the Deutsche Reichsbahn from the 1970s onwards. They were used both on domestic services in the GDR and on international trains. The mixed ABme coaches offered flexibility in train formation and were frequently used in express and D trains to combine both comfort levels in one coach.

Compatibility & possible uses

The coach is compatible with standard TT track systems. It is ideal for forming D trains and DR international express trains and can be ideally combined with other Y/B-70 coaches from the Roco range.
