Roco 70117 H0 diesel locomotive V188 002, DB, Ep.III

The diesel-electric double locomotive V 188 002 of the German Federal Railroad is presented as an exclusive H0 model. Originally put into service by the German Wehrmacht in 1941 and 1942, four type D 311 double locomotives were designed for the transportation of heavy railroad guns. After the war, the German Federal Railroad continued to use two of these locomotives, V 188 001 a/b and V 188 002 a/b, while a third served as a spare parts donor.

Proven in heavy freight train and push-pull service, especially on the Spessart ramp, the locomotives were further developed over the course of time. This Era IIIa edition model is painted green with a roof superstructure. The double locomotive, consisting of two coupled units, is fully equipped with motors. The transition area between the units, the engine room and other details are elaborately reproduced.

The finely detailed model is impressive with frame panels, sandboxes, direction-dependent lighting system, openwork roof ventilators and built-in lighting in the driver's cab, driver's desk, switch box and engine room. A special highlight is the ability to switch the lighting in digital mode. The history and performance of this double locomotive are impressively honored by this model.
