Roco 70275 steam locomotive BR 52, DB, Ep. III Product Details
Between 1942 and 1950, over 7,000 of the class 52 wartime locomotives were built. These were designed with as little expense as possible and savings were also made on materials wherever possible. Weighing 84 tons, it had a power output of 1,192 kW and a top speed of 80 km/h. The Deutsche Bundesbahn got rid of most of the locomotives as early as 1953 - it had enough 50s and 44s at its disposal to pull heavy freight trains. Only a few locomotives completed as late as 1945 remained in DB service until 1962.
Drive on two axles of the tender and via cardan shaft on all five driving axles of the locomotive.
