Roco 70772 diesel locomotive 218 290-5, DB AG, Ep. V (incl. sound)

The class 218 has shaped the image of the Deutsche Bundesbahn and Deutsche Bahn like no other diesel locomotive type in the last five decades. From 1971, 398 series locomotives were put into service and used in front of both passenger and freight trains. They reached a top speed of 140 km/h with an output of 1,840 kW.

The 218 series has gone through several color variants over the course of time. The first 218s were still delivered in the purple-red color scheme that was common for diesel locomotives at the time.
