Roco 7110026 H0 steam locomotive Rh 354.1, CSD, Ep. III, DC-sound Product Details

7110026 H0 Rh 354.1 steam locomotive, CSD, Era III, DC sound: Precision and sound for demanding model railroaders

The 7110026 H0 Rh 354.1 steam locomotive from the Czechoslovak State Railways (CSD) combines historical authenticity with modern sound and light technology. This model brings the elegance of Era III to your model railroad layout in impressive detail. With digital control, switchable cab lighting and authentic sound, every trip becomes a special experience.

The prototype: The innovative 354.1 series

The development of the 354.1 series began in 1912 when the Imperial-Royal Private Southern Railway Company needed a new tender locomotive for heavy passenger trains. The Staats-Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft then developed the superheated steam type 629, the world's first tender locomotive with a 2'C1' (Pacific) axle arrangement. This innovative design set standards and made the 354.1 series one of the most important steam locomotives of its time.

After the First World War, 15 locomotives of the 354.1 series were handed over to the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways (CSD), where they were designated 354.121 to 354.135. Their robust construction and reliability made them an important part of the Czechoslovakian railroad network in Era III.

Era III: The heyday of steam locomotives

In Era III (1945-1970), steam operation experienced its last great heyday in Europe. The locomotives of the 354.1 series were primarily used in passenger train service during this time and shaped the image of the railroads in Czechoslovakia. With its striking round chimney with brim and the fine details, the locomotive is an iconic symbol of this era.

Technical details and equipment

This model is equipped for the first time with a round chimney with brim, which emphasizes its authenticity. Free-standing lines, the finest wheels with low wheel flanges and metal buffers ensure a prototypical representation. The driving and coupling rods made of precision cast metal not only provide stability, but also contribute to the high-quality appearance. Thanks to the switchable driver's cab and engine lighting, the model becomes even more realistic in digital operation.

State-of-the-art technology: digital control and sound

The integrated sound decoder provides authentic sounds, including typical steam noises, starting and braking sounds as well as other operating noises. The switchable interior lighting and the direction of travel-dependent light change (white) with LEDs create an atmospheric ambience on your layout. All functions can be precisely controlled via a digital controller.

Quality and workmanship

The model impresses with its high-quality workmanship. The combination of metal parts and precisely manufactured plastic elements guarantees a long service life and an authentic look. With a coupling shaft in accordance with NEM and close coupling kinematics, the model is ideal for operation on complex layouts.

Scope of delivery

The model is supplied with detailed operating instructions and in secure packaging. This protects the locomotive from damage and makes it ready for immediate use.

Care and maintenance

To maintain the functionality and flawless appearance of the model, the wheels and moving parts should be cleaned regularly. Lightly oiling the driving and coupling rods as well as the bearings ensures smooth operation. The LED lighting and electronics are low-maintenance, but should be protected from moisture.

Conclusion and purchase recommendation

The 7110026 H0 Rh 354.1 steam locomotive with DC sound is an excellent choice for all model railroad fans who value historical authenticity and state-of-the-art technology. With its extensive functions, high-quality workmanship and impressive sound, it is a real highlight on any H0 layout.
