Roco 7120049 H0 steam locomotive Reihe 56, CFL, Ep. III, AC-Sound Product Details
Roco 7120049 H0 Series 56 CFL steam locomotive - AC sound model of the Luxembourg State Railroad
The Roco 7120049 steam locomotive 5605 brings the impressive steam locomotive class 56 of the Luxembourg State Railroad (CFL) to your H0 layout as an AC sound model. Originally designed as the DRB class 52, this robust war locomotive was taken over after the Second World War as the KDL 1 and played a leading role in CFL operations until 1961 - particularly on the northern line in Luxembourg. The model impresses with its powerful technology, high level of detail and sonorous digital equipment.
Digital technology for AC drivers
The locomotive is equipped with a PluX16 digital decoder and offers authentic steam locomotive sound functions for AC operation. It is driven by two tender axles and a cardan shaft that drives all five driving axles of the locomotive - a total of seven driven axles ensure maximum tractive power. An integrated flywheel mass guarantees smooth running characteristics. The LED headlights with two lights change automatically with the direction of travel.
Fine details & true to the original
The model impresses with its fine metal spoke wheels and precision-cast metal driving and coupling rods, which are both visually and functionally impressive. The delicate CFL lettering gives the model a realistic appearance, in keeping with the period of use in the 1950s and 60s. Coupling is via a KK coupler between the locomotive and tender as well as an NEM 362 shaft with KK kinematics on the tender.
A piece of CFL history on your layout
To counter the lack of modern steam locomotives, the CFL reverted to the tried and tested class 52 after the end of the war. The locomotives were assigned to the 56 series in Luxembourg and remained in service on the northern line until 1961. The model of locomotive 5605 commemorates this important phase of Luxembourg's rail traffic.
