Description

Roco 71351 electric locomotive 194 118-6, DB, Ep. IV (incl. sound) Product Details

About the model: The 194 118 electric locomotive is in German Federal Railroad design and is from Era IV. The model is powered by 6 axles and is factory-equipped with a PluX22 digital decoder. All further info about the detailed model can be found under the features.

About the prototype: The German Federal Railroad had a total of 124 class E 94 or later 194 locomotives in its inventory. Like other designs from earlier times, the E 94 had a characteristic design with two front ends, which quickly earned it the nickname "German Crocodile". In terms of propulsion, the designers relied on a tatzlager drive, ideal for hauling heavy freight trains, which is what the "Crocodiles" were built for. The engine was rated for 90 km/h, the hourly power output was 3,240 kW, and the starting power was 3,900 kW. - With this power, combined with the unsprung tatzlager drive, it is no wonder that the tracks began to vibrate when a 194 "tore into" a heavy freight train.

EDITION FREILASSING: Over the next few years, selected models from the former Freilassing depot will be reproduced under the "Edition Freilassing" label. In 1905, the first locomotives, at that time still steam locomotives, moved into the locomotive shed with its 20 tracks. Around 20 years later, the electric locomotive workshop was built, followed by other buildings in the years that followed. ROCO also has a close relationship with the Bavarian town of Freilassing, as the first German sales office was located there after all. Look forward to the models of this unique edition!
