Roco 7300084 H0 Diesel locomotive L.D.61, FVS, Ep. III-IV
The Roco 7300084 L.D.61 diesel locomotive is a detailed model of the Ferrovia della Valle Seriana (FVS) from eras III-IV. This locomotive is based on the proven WR 360 C 14 design, which was originally developed by the German Wehrmacht for strategic operations. Two licensed models were built for the FVS in Italy in the 1950s and used for shunting and branch line operations. With a new Next18 interface, the finest detailing and compact dimensions, this model is the ideal addition for authentic scenes in branch line operation.
Historical background
The type WR 360 C 14 diesel locomotives were built in large numbers for military use during the Second World War. After the end of the war, many of these locomotives found new owners in Europe. In 1953/54, two locomotives of this type were built for the Ferrovia della Valle Seriana (FVS) by the Greco company in Reggio Emilia under license from Deutz. Under the designation L.D.61, they were used for shunting and train service on the company's short lines and were indispensable workhorses there for many years.
Detailed model design
The model is equipped with a bell on the front end, a characteristic feature of these Italian licensed models. The finely reproduced details, such as the filigree lamps and separately attached handlebars, give the model a realistic appearance. With its compact length of 106 mm, the locomotive is perfect for small stations, branch lines and shunting scenes.
Technical equipment
The locomotive is powered by a 5-pole motor with a flywheel, which ensures smooth running characteristics. Three axles are powered, one of them with traction tires for additional tractive power. The 2 headlights change depending on the direction of travel and are equipped with modern LED technology. Thanks to the NEM 362 coupling mount with close coupling kinematics, the locomotive can be used flexibly. The newly integrated Next18 interface allows easy digitization.
Use on the model railroad
The Roco L.D.61 is ideal for operation in eras III-IV and is an excellent addition to typical branch line trains. It looks particularly harmonious in combination with the matching branch line freight train (item no. 6600229). This allows you to depict realistic operating scenes of an Italian private railroad on your layout.
