Roco 7310085 H0 Diesel locomotive BR 118, DR, Ep. IV, DC sound
Are you looking for a powerful-sounding, fully equipped DR diesel locomotive for your digital DC system? Then the Roco BR 118 158 with sound decoder, extensive lighting and harmonious appearance is the ideal choice for Era IV fans with a sense for prototype fidelity!
The Babelsberger - powerhouse on DR tracks
The locomotives of the V 180 series, known as the BR 118 from 1970, were among the most important diesel locomotives of the German Reichsbahn. The B'B'-coupled machines were built in Babelsberg from 1962 and provided excellent service in passenger and freight traffic with two engines of 900 HP each. The locomotive 118 158 depicted here was based in Rostock (Bw, Rbd Schwerin) - a typical representative of the heavy load and express train service in the GDR.
Prototypical down to the last detail
The model from Roco shows the locomotive in the elegant Era IV double-bellied livery with square door cut-out and true-to-original window/fan combination in the engine room. These striking features make the model a real eye-catcher on your H0 layout - whether as a solo locomotive or in front of authentic Reichsbahn train sets.
Digital equipment with extensive lighting
Thanks to the PluX22 digital decoder, the model offers switchable lighting functions such as headlights/tail lights, cab lighting and engine room lighting - all digitally controllable. The high-quality sound rounds off the operating experience perfectly and makes every journey an acoustic experience.
Powerful technology for digital operation
Four powered axles, one of which has traction tires, as well as an integrated flywheel and a powerful 5-pole motor ensure reliable running characteristics. A buffer capacitor ensures a stable power supply even on critical track sections. The minimum radius of 358 mm means that the model can be used on almost any H0 layout.
Conclusion: A must for friends of the DR era
The Roco BR 118 158 is a coherent overall package for digital railroaders with high demands on prototypical accuracy, function and reliability. Now available in the model railroad store - get this powerful Babelsberg locomotive for your Era IV fleet!
