The 2143 - an icon of non-electrified rail traffic

Between 1964 and 1977, a total of 77 locomotives of the 2143 series were built by the Simmering-Graz-Pauker-Werke. They were used on numerous main and branch lines, especially in eastern Austria, for both passenger and freight services. Locomotive 2143 047 is from the third series, recognizable by the straight frame, the rain gutters above the doors and the newly designed tank areas.
