Description

Roco 7380019 TT diesel locomotive 120 144-1, DR, Ep. IV Product Details

Roco diesel locomotive 120 144-1 - TT, DR, Era IV

With the Roco 7380019 model, you get a detailed and technically solid replica of the class 120 (V 200 series) of the Deutsche Reichsbahn. The locomotive impresses with the original muffler, the wide Dessau ornamental stripes and its ability to be used for long trains - perfect for your TT layout in the GDR ambience.

Design & workmanship

The model features the original silencer and the characteristic wide Dessau decorative strip, carefully painted and enhanced with the finest details such as handle bars, ventilation grilles and roof superstructures. Thanks to clean lines and precise printing, the locomotive looks particularly convincing in the Era IV design.

Technology & equipment

The locomotive has six powered axles, two of which have traction tires, and is equipped with a flywheel for smooth running. The lighting consists of 3 headlights at both ends of the vehicle that switch over in the direction of travel. The model is designed for DC analog operation and includes an interface in accordance with NEM 651 for connection to digital systems.

Historical background

Between 1966 and 1975, the Deutsche Reichsbahn procured 378 locomotives of the V 200 series. As they had no train heating, they were primarily used in freight train service. Due to their loud engine, they were nicknamed the "Taiga drum". The 120 144-1 was stationed in the Reichsbahndirektion Dresden (Rbd Dresden) and was based in the Dresden depot.

Compatibility & possible uses

This model is primarily designed for DC analog operation and is ideally suited for classic TT layouts without digital control. However, the NEM 651 interface makes later digitalization possible. The locomotive is particularly suitable for freight and heavy passenger trains without heating.

Purchase arguments & target group

This locomotive is an excellent choice for model railroaders who value robust technology, authentic design and classic DR car material. The combination of rich detail, solid engineering and historical significance makes it particularly attractive for GDR enthusiasts.
