Roco 7500048 H0 Set of 2 electric locomotives Rm, SJ, Era IV, DC Analog: Swedish freight train power in a double pack

With the Roco 7500048 H0 set of 2 Rm electric locomotives, model railroaders can experience the fascinating world of Swedish ore transportation in Era IV. The two electric locomotives are based on the Rc4 series and were developed in the 1970s as more powerful alternatives to the tried and tested Dm3. Six units of the Rm (1257-1262) were built specifically for heavy ore transportation on the famous Kiruna-Narvik line - with increased mass, modified gear ratios and a reduced maximum speed of 100 km/h.

In operation, the locomotives initially ran in triple traction (Rm+Rm+Rm), later this was changed to a combination with Rc4 locomotives. As the hoped-for operational success did not materialize as expected, the Rm were later modified and used as single vehicles in regular freight train service. The model set from Roco authentically reflects this interesting phase of Swedish railroad history - in a true-to-original design with numerous technical and visual details.

Both locomotives are fully equipped and feature prototypical front sections including reproduction of the automatic coupler. The locomotives have a powerful 5-pole motor with a flywheel that drives a total of eight axles - two of them with traction tires. The headlights with Swedish light change are equipped with LEDs and can be switched in analog form using a DIP switch. The additional light function provides harmonious lighting on the layout.

The model is technically designed for DC analog operation and has an electric PluX22 interface, which makes digital retrofitting possible without any problems. Coupling is via NEM shafts without close coupler kinematics. With an overall length over buffers of 358 mm and a minimum radius of 358 mm, the set is ideal for all H0 layouts with Scandinavian flair or international freight traffic.
