With the Roco 7510048 H0 set of 2 Rm electric locomotives, you can bring two powerful electric locomotives from the Swedish State Railways SJ to your DC model railway layout in a true-to-original design. The locomotives are based on the proven Rc4 and were developed in the 1970s as a modernized alternative to the Dm3 series - designed for the tough ore traffic between Kiruna and Narvik. The Rm units were given a higher weight, a different gear ratio and a reduced top speed of 100 km/h in order to better handle heavy loads.

Operation began in triple traction (Rm+Rm+Rm) and was later switched to the combination Rm+Rc4+Rm. As the hoped-for increase in performance did not materialize as expected, many ore trains returned to the tried and tested Dm3. The Rm locomotives were then converted for regular freight train service and used as single locomotives. With this model set, you can experience this exciting era of Swedish railroad history in H0 scale - precisely reproduced and technically up to date.

Both locomotives are designed in their original condition and have a detailed front section with reproduction of the automatic coupler. Thanks to digital technology, high beams as well as headlights and marker lights can be controlled separately. The Swedish light change is reproduced prototypically with LEDs. The locomotives are driven by a powerful 5-pole motor with a flywheel, which ensures smooth running characteristics. A total of eight axles are driven, two of which have traction tires - ideal for realistic tractive power.

The models are equipped with an electric PluX22 interface and include an MS450P22 sound decoder as standard. The DC operation is digital and is supported by an integrated buffer capacitor, which ensures trouble-free running even in difficult track conditions. With a total length over buffers of 358 mm, the two machines cut an impressive figure on any layout. Coupling is via the standardized NEM 362 shaft, but without close coupling kinematics.

This set is ideal for model railroaders who are interested in Scandinavian railroad prototypes and authentic freight traffic. These two engines really come into their own in combination with matching freight wagons or on period-appropriate layouts.
