The Roco 7520167 electric locomotive 482 038-0 is a modern model of the Nordic Re-Finance (NRFAB) and authentically depicts Scandinavian rail freight traffic of Era VI. With digital sound equipment, switchable high beam and prototypical paintwork, this TRAXX F140 AC2 is a highlight for AC model railroaders.

Prototype and use

Nordic Re-Finance took over four TRAXX F140 AC2 locomotives from SBB Cargo International. After extensive conversions and a redesign, they were approved for operation in Sweden and Norway under ETCS. Locomotive 482 038 was sent to Sweden and is currently leased to CFL Cargo. With its snow plow and powerful technology, it is ideally suited for the harsh climatic conditions in Scandinavia.

Detailed model design

The model is equipped with a snow plow on the chassis and impresses with filigree engravings and precise printing. It reproduces the typical TRAXX design with all its characteristic features. With a length over buffers of 217 mm, the locomotive is perfectly proportioned and a real eye-catcher on any layout.

Digital equipment with sound

The locomotive is equipped with a PluX22 sound decoder that provides realistic operating sounds. In digital mode, the main beam as well as the headlights and marker lights can be switched separately. The LED lighting ensures a bright and energy-saving display. This makes the locomotive an asset to any layout, not only visually but also acoustically.

Technical features

The locomotive is powered by a powerful 5-pole motor with a flywheel. Three axles are driven, two of them with traction tires for additional tractive power. With a minimum radius of 358 mm, it can be used flexibly. Coupler pockets in accordance with NEM 362 with close coupler kinematics ensure simple integration into model railroad operation.

The Roco 482 038-0 is an ideal addition for modern Era VI freight trains. It is perfect for Scandinavian scenarios, international freight trains and operation on Märklin-compatible AC layouts. With sound, lighting functions and its striking appearance, it is a highlight for every model railroader.
