Historical background - the SOB Re 4/4 III

Between 1983 and 1985, the SOB took over three Re 4/4 IIIs from the SBB (formerly 11351-11353), which were then given the numbers 42-44. These locomotives, with their yellow lettering and special private railway features, were known by the nickname "Golden Chair". They were used in express trains, in freight and construction train services as well as in the Voralpen Express. The locomotives returned to SBB in 1994-1996 - locomotive 41 became 11350.
