Additional Coaches for the I K Museum Train
Additional running numbers or suitable historic coaches could expand the existing I K vehicle family into even more complete heritage train formations.
This page is not intended to anticipate or invent the Technomodell new products for 2027. As long as no official programme has been published, the more interesting question is: which additions would genuinely improve existing H0e trains and Saxon narrow-gauge layouts?
Technomodell has an unusually clear focus in this area. At Modellbahnshop, the range is dominated by H0e passenger coaches, freight wagons, steam locomotives, couplings, wheelsets, turnouts and other narrow-gauge accessories. Particularly well represented are prototypes from the Royal Saxon State Railways, the DRG, the Deutsche Reichsbahn and various present-day and historic private and heritage railways.
This means that a strong new product does not necessarily have to be a completely new steam locomotive. Another coach with a different running number can be more important for creating a believable train. Equally interesting are current lettering variants for the Fichtelberg Railway, Lößnitzgrund Railway or Weißeritztal Railway, matching service and freight wagons, vehicles for the Zittau narrow-gauge railways or a useful extension to the H0e track system.
A model is particularly valuable when it complements an existing vehicle family and makes a specific type of railway operation possible. A coach type with several different running numbers can create a complete train. A service coach completes a heritage set. A new freight wagon opens up transporter-wagon, general-goods or engineering-train operation. An additional turnout can even make a previously impossible track plan practical.
Technomodell has many proven coach families covering Eras I to VI. Current lettering, different running numbers, heritage conditions, different roof designs or route-specific versions can therefore be just as interesting as a completely new tooling.
The automatic checker further down the page only moves a model into the confirmed section when its current English product page clearly identifies it as a 2027 new product. Archived products are excluded.
These suggestions are not announcements. They illustrate different directions in which a future programme could expand existing narrow-gauge worlds. Click an idea to add it to the Wish Workshop.
Additional running numbers or suitable historic coaches could expand the existing I K vehicle family into even more complete heritage train formations.
Additional passenger, service or special coaches with current Fichtelberg Railway lettering would add greater variety to present-day SDG trains.
Current vehicle conditions could bring historic Technomodell coach families into today's heritage and tourist railway world.
New running numbers, service coaches or special summer-train variants could specifically expand the popular narrow-gauge operation around Radebeul.
Passenger, dining, luggage and observation coaches in coordinated current conditions could make complete Zittau train formations possible.
Modern RüBB lettering on established coach types would create an interesting combination of historic rolling stock and present-day heritage railway operation.
Several running numbers within the same coach family would make believable long Deutsche Reichsbahn passenger trains possible without obvious duplicate vehicles.
Open wagons, flat wagons and further short freight vehicles would make mixed Era II narrow-gauge freight trains particularly varied and convincing.
Short passenger, mail, luggage and freight wagons are ideal partners for the I K and make compact historic trains possible even on small layouts.
Service, material and flat wagons would create shunting tasks and introduce a second type of operation alongside traditional passenger trains.
Additional turnout types, more generous geometries or practical transition pieces could make more complex stations easier to build in limited space.
New locomotive or railcar designs would be particularly interesting with a modern decoder interface, reliable current pickup and preparation for sound.
Within Modellbahnshop, Technomodell itself is particularly associated with H0e and H0f. The wider manufacturing environment of parent company pmt is broader and also includes H0, H0m and TT. Wishes should therefore clearly identify the brand and model gauge to which they refer.
| Model Gauge | Scale / Track Gauge | Meaning | Possible Direction for 2027 |
|---|---|---|---|
| H0e | 1:87 · 9 mm | Core world for 750/760 mm narrow-gauge railways | Saxony, DR, DRG, SDG, SOEG, heritage trains, coaches, wagons and track |
| H0f | 1:87 · 6.5 mm | Field and industrial railways | Small vehicles, skips, industrial and private siding themes |
| H0 | 1:87 · 16.5 mm | Selected Technomodell/pmt products and connecting systems | Drives, transition solutions and combinations of standard and narrow gauge |
| H0m / TT | Wider pmt programme | Not the main focus of the Technomodell brand world | Clearly distinguish between Technomodell and pmt when submitting wishes |
Especially with small H0e vehicles, enjoyment in everyday operation depends on more than the prototype alone. Current pickup, drive technology, couplings and the possibility of later digitisation are particularly important on compact narrow-gauge layouts.
An easily accessible digital interface would not restrict analogue users while making later DCC or sound conversions considerably easier.
Narrow-gauge operation is characterised by slow shunting movements. Reliable current pickup is therefore more important than spectacular maximum speed.
Coaches and wagons should couple reliably while retaining the characteristic close appearance of an H0e narrow-gauge train.
A useful new track component can do more for a terminus, passing station, freight siding or locomotive facility than another individual vehicle variation.
Technomodell has been part of pmt since 2009. The officially published pmt New Products 2026 brochure shows how strongly narrow gauge continues to feature in the programme. In H0e, the announced products included the new-tooling 53426 SDG luggage van for the Fichtelberg Railway, the current 52465 SDG passenger coach and the open DRG freight wagons 54208 and 54209. The wider pmt range also included H0 vehicle and drive-related topics.
The 53426 Fichtelberg Railway luggage van is new tooling, while the 52465 passenger coach uses current SDG lettering. The 54208 open DRG wagon is also new tooling, accompanied by the 54209 decoration variant. This combination of genuinely new tooling and useful variants would also make sense for a future programme.
Describe your wish like a short product specification. The Wish Workshop will create a prepared email to Denis. The message is not sent automatically; you can review it first in your own email application.
This area is not filled with wish products. The checker considers only current Technomodell product pages on which the shop explicitly identifies the product as a 2027 new product. A delivery date in the year 2027 alone is not sufficient.
No check has been run yet.
The Product Finder loads current Technomodell items directly from several English Modellbahnshop product categories. Product pages containing an archive notice are excluded. Images are normalised to the 400-pixel product version; delivery and stock information is deliberately not displayed on the cards.
A checked starter selection is displayed. Additional product pages are verified as further products are loaded.
These answers explain the publication status, H0e, H0f, Saxon narrow gauge, pmt, wish models and the automatic product checker.
As of 1 September 2026, no regularly published Technomodell new-products programme for 2027 is available. The model ideas on this page are therefore explicitly wishes.
The page collects wishes before the new programme is published. Once genuine products are explicitly identified as 2027 new products, the same area can display them automatically as well.
The clear focus is H0e. This model gauge uses 1:87 scale on 9 mm track and is particularly suitable for Saxon 750 mm narrow-gauge railways.
Yes. H0f also belongs to the Technomodell world and represents particularly narrow field and industrial railways in 1:87 scale on 6.5 mm model track.
Particularly important themes include the Royal Saxon State Railways, DRG, Deutsche Reichsbahn, Saxon narrow-gauge railways and various private and heritage railways.
Interesting ideas include additional running numbers, current SDG variants, vehicles for the Weißeritztal, Lößnitzgrund, Fichtelberg and Zittau narrow-gauge railways, as well as complementary luggage, service and freight wagons.
Technomodell has been part of pmt since 2009. Technomodell is particularly associated with narrow-gauge models, while the wider pmt programme also includes further H0, H0m and TT themes as well as drives and chassis.
Yes. Turnouts, track, couplings, wheelsets and other technical components are just as relevant to practical narrow-gauge operation as new locomotives and coaches.
The current product page must explicitly contain a 2027 new-product designation, such as the English shop field “News: 2027”. A year mentioned only as part of a delivery date is not sufficient.
No. The dynamic Product Finder checks the relevant product page. If it clearly states that the item is no longer part of the range, that product is excluded.
