H0 Set of 3 DR "City Express" Passenger Cars - Tillig 70064 for Era IV
Experience the heyday of GDR long-distance transportation: With the Tillig 70064 set of 3 "City Express" passenger cars, you can bring an iconic piece of German State Railroad history of Era IV (approx. 1965-1990) to your H0 layout. The City Express stood for fast and comfortable long-distance service between the most important East German cities - a prestige connection of the DR with a striking color scheme and typical car material.
Design & workmanship
The set consists of three detailed passenger cars with the classic City Express paint scheme in orange-beige. The finely implemented printing with DR identification, vehicle numbers and course car lettering makes these cars real gems on the layout. Each car is equipped with interior fittings - for a realistic overall appearance during day and night operation.
Technical features & special features
Modularly expandable and rich in detail
The carriages have NEM coupler pockets with close coupling kinematics and are therefore ideal for realistic operation in tight radii or large layouts. Interior lighting can be retrofitted as an option to provide an atmospheric setting for the car train, even at night.
True-to-original wagon length
With a total length over buffers of 811 mm, the set reproduces a typical city express train section on a scale of 1:87. It can be excellently combined with matching DR locomotives of the 118, 119 or 132 series.

The city express trains were a special feature of long-distance transportation in the GDR - they connected important cities such as Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden or Erfurt in a comfortable way.
