Tillig 95401 TT Dining Car WRRm, CSD, Era IV Product Details

Tillig 95401 TT WRRm Dining Car, ČSD, Era IV – International Dining Comfort from Bautzen

Are you looking for a typical Eastern European dining car for your Era IV international express trains? The Tillig 95401 TT WRRm dining car from the Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD) brings a genuine piece of railroad history to your model railroad layout. With its distinctive layout of buffet and dining areas, as well as its history of international service—for example, on the legendary “Vindobona”—this car is a highlight for all enthusiasts of cross-border train connections in the Eastern Bloc.

A Bautzen classic for international service

In 1978, VEB Waggonbau Bautzen built a total of 40 combined dining and buffet cars for the ČSD. The WRRm-type cars complied with UIC Type X specifications, were 26.40 m long, and were certified for speeds of up to 140 km/h. Their distinctive feature: The kitchen was located centrally between the dining car and the buffet area—a rather rare design that made the cars unmistakable.

The WRRm cars were regularly used on international routes such as the “Vindobona” when ČSD was responsible for the dining car. As a result, this car type became well-known not only in Czechoslovakia but also in countries such as Austria and the GDR.

Excellent model reproduction in TT scale

The Tillig WRRm measures 220 mm over buffers and features a finely detailed interior—including the dining car, buffet, and central kitchen. The large windows provide a clear view of the interior. Suitable interior lighting can be retrofitted for atmospheric nighttime journeys. Thanks to its NEM-compliant coupler mount and close-coupling kinematics, the car can be safely and prototypically integrated into international train formations.

Versatile combinations for realistic Era IV trains

The WRRm is ideal for complementing international express trains with ČSD, DR, or ÖBB rolling stock. Combine it with matching Y/B or X-type passenger cars and locomotives such as the ČSD Class 350 or DR Class 132 to bring the long-distance rail service of the Eastern Bloc to life on your TT layout.

A must-have for all fans of classic Eastern European railways

With the Tillig 95401 WRRm, you’re not just adding a dining car to your layout—you’re bringing a genuine piece of railway cooperation from the former Eastern Bloc to life.

For all model railroading enthusiasts who want to realistically depict international train connections from Era IV, this model is a valuable addition—historically interesting, superbly crafted, and ready to run.
