Trix 25191 electric locomotive "Vectron" Reihe 1293, ÖbB, Ep. VI (incl. sound) Product Details
About the prototype: From the Vectron locomotive family of the German rail vehicle manufacturer Siemens Mobility, the 1293 series has been used by the Austrian Federal Railways since 2019. A framework agreement was concluded in 2017, which covers the delivery of up to 200 models. According to the agreement, ÖBB can order up to 100 AC locomotives, 50 AC locomotives with an additional diesel generator for shunting services and 50 multi-system locomotives (MS). Apart from the bogies, which come from the Siemens plant in Graz, the locomotives are manufactured in Munich.
The Vectrons can call up an output of 6400 kW when operating with AC voltage and 6000 kW with DC voltage and have mainly been used for freight transport to date, which is why they have been approved for speeds of up to 160km/h. In order to ensure smoother running compared to the predecessor models, especially on winding sections of track, the locomotives of the 1293 series were equipped with active rotary dampers. In 2019 and 2020, the locomotives were largely used on freight transport routes to Italy and the Czech Republic. As a result, ÖBB was able to return a large number of the rental locomotives that previously operated these routes.
About the model: The model of this electric locomotive from Trix has an amazing attention to detail in the functional and design areas. The locomotive body and girders are made using the zinc die-casting process to provide accuracy, stability and durability. In addition, many applied details complete the outstanding external visual impression of the locomotive. This is complemented by a fully equipped driver's cab with interior lighting. However, the model's range of functions is in no way inferior to its appearance. In addition to the interior lighting, the model has a headlight on both sides and a double A light. The headlights on locomotive side 2 and 1 can each be switched off separately digitally. The locomotive is driven by a controlled high-performance drive which drives 4 axles. The pre-installed digital decoder allows a variety of sound functions to be called up.
