Frequently asked questions
| Question: | Which track and digital system is the Trix 25463 designed for? |
| Answer: | The train is an H0-scale model in 1:87 for two-rail DC layouts. Its factory-installed digital decoder supports DCC and mfx, and RailCom feedback is also provided. This Trix version is not intended for Märklin-compatible three-rail layouts with a centre conductor. |
| Question: | Which prototype does the four-car train represent? |
| Answer: | The model represents a Deutsche Bahn Siemens Desiro HC in the Baden-Württemberg bwegt livery. The unit consists of two end cars and two intermediate cars from Classes 1462 and 1862. It belongs to Era VI and reflects operation on the Rheintal network from 2020 onwards. |
| Question: | Which sound and lighting functions are already installed? |
| Answer: | The train provides extensive driving and operating sounds as well as directional white headlights and red tail lights. LED interior lighting with buffer capacitors is installed as standard. Cab lighting, control-desk illumination, destination displays and high beams with two intensity settings can also be controlled digitally. |
| Question: | How do the pantographs operate? |
| Answer: | The pantographs can be raised and lowered digitally. They cannot be used to collect operating power from an overhead wire, as the train is powered exclusively through the rails. The pantographs must be unlocked according to the instructions before the first run. Apart from the specified unlocking and packing procedure, they should not be moved by hand. |
| Question: | How much layout space does the Trix Desiro HC require? |
| Answer: | The complete four-car train measures approximately 112.6 cm. Platforms, sidings and hidden storage tracks should therefore provide sufficient usable length. The minimum operating radius is 360 mm. A controlled high-efficiency drive with a flywheel supports smooth running. |
