Bemo 1462565 H0 electric loco "Matterhorn Story" HGe 4/4 5, MGB, Ep. VI, AC-Sound Product Details
Introduction
With the Bemo 1462565 H0 electric locomotive "Matterhorn Story" HGe 4/4 5 of the MGB, Era VI, you can bring a particularly expressive model with a cultural reference to your H0 layout. This powerful cogwheel locomotive was specially designed by the Matterhorn-Gotthard Railway (MGB) as part of the open-air play "The Matterhorn Story" on the Riffelberg. The model is available in the AC sound version for the Märklin-compatible 3-wire AC system - including digital decoder and impressive soundscape.
Design & workmanship
The locomotive is presented in an eye-catching design with posters on both sides that refer to the moving story of the first ascent of the Matterhorn in 1865. The special design is applied in razor-sharp detail and makes the model a real eye-catcher on the layout. The finest engravings, attached parts and a detailed roof design underline the high quality of the workmanship. The direction-dependent LED lighting rounds off the appearance.
Technical features & special functions
The model is equipped for 3-wire alternating current (AC) operation and has a factory-installed sound decoder that provides realistic operating sounds such as traction motors, horn signals and more. The Next18 interface allows individual programming and expansion. The LED headlights with light change provide additional authenticity in digital operation.
Historical background
The HGe 4/4 5 is one of three non-modernized locomotives of this class that were originally used by the BVZ (Brig-Visp-Zermatt Railway). As part of the cultural initiative "The Matterhorn Story", it was converted into a rolling advertising space for the open-air theater on the Riffelberg. This performance commemorates the first ascent of the Matterhorn in July 1865 - a significant event for Alpine tourism. Ten years after its premiere in 2015, the play was staged again in summer 2025.
Compatibility & expansion options
The locomotive is suitable for AC digital systems in H0 scale with a minimum radius of 360 mm. It can be perfectly combined with MGB or Glacier Express passenger and panoramic coaches. The in-house coupler pocket ensures a secure connection during operation.
Scope of delivery
The set includes the fully digitized HGe 4/4 5 electric locomotive in the "Matterhorn Story" design, with factory-fitted sound decoder, LED lighting and Next18 interface - ready for operation on the 3-wire AC system.
Purchase arguments & target group
The Bemo 1462565 HGe 4/4 5 is aimed at model railroaders with a focus on Swiss railroad themes, special cultural models and technically sophisticated AC digital systems.
