Bemo 1562565 H0 electric loco "Matterhorn Story" HGe 4/4 5, MGB, Ep. VI, AC-Digital Product Details
Introduction
The Bemo 1562565 H0 electric locomotive "Matterhorn Story" HGe 4/4 5 of the MGB, Era VI brings impressive cultural history and striking design to your H0 AC layout. The locomotive was given an eye-catching advertising livery by the Matterhorn-Gotthard Railway (MGB) as part of the new production of the open-air play "The Matterhorn Story" on the Riffelberg - and is reminiscent of the historic first ascent of the Matterhorn in 1865. The model is designed in the digital AC version without sound and therefore offers a solid, future-proof locomotive for Märklin-compatible systems.
Design & workmanship
The locomotive impresses with its unique design with the special "Matterhorn Story" lettering, which has been implemented in high print quality and color fidelity. The finely detailed reproduction of the body, roof equipment and fan grilles is evidence of Bemo's attention to detail. The LED top lighting with white light change works depending on the direction of travel and ensures authentic lighting conditions during operation.
Technical features & special functions
This version is designed for 3-wire alternating current (AC) operation and has a factory-installed digital decoder (without sound). The Next18 interface offers you the option of retrofitting a sound decoder at a later date if required. The modern LED lighting completes the technical equipment and ensures reliable operation on digital layouts.
Historical background
The HGe 4/4 5 belongs to the series of former BVZ cogwheel locomotives that are now owned by MGB. As an unmodernized unit, it was converted into a rolling advertising medium for the open-air theatre "The Matterhorn Story" on the Riffelberg. The open-air theater commemorates the legendary first ascent of the Matterhorn in 1865 - a milestone in the history of tourism in the Alps. The new production in 2025 celebrated ten years since the premiere and received a lot of public attention - also thanks to this locomotive.
Compatibility & expansion options
The locomotive is ideally suited for use on all H0 layouts with 3-wire alternating current systems (AC) and a minimum radius of 360 mm. It can be excellently combined with MGB or Glacier Express coaches. The in-house coupler pocket guarantees a secure connection with other Bemo vehicles.
Scope of delivery
The set includes the digitized HGe 4/4 5 electric locomotive in the "Matterhorn Story" design, with LED light change, Next18 interface and all of the attached details - ready for operation with AC digital layouts.
Purchase arguments & target group
The Bemo 1562565 HGe 4/4 5 is ideal for model railroaders who value a visually striking model with a real background but can do without a sound function. As a digitally controllable locomotive with a strong cultural message, it is perfect for RhB and MGB collectors, Märklin drivers and fans of Alpine themed trains.
