About the model: In December 2022, the operation of a train line connecting Montreux on Lake Geneva with Interlaken in the Bernese Oberland without changing trains began. This is particularly special as 62.43 km are covered on meter gauge between Montreux and Zweisimmen and 52.91 km on standard gauge track between Zweisimmen and Interlaken Ost. This means that the locomotives and passenger carriages in Zweisimmen will have to be converted. For this purpose, lateral roller carriers are supported on the bogies, while the bogies are widened for standard-gauge operation and the carriage body is raised at the same time due to the deviating platform standard height. In addition, the train set, which actually consists of two railcars and two passenger coaches, will be equipped with a BLS Re 465 electric locomotive, which will drive it on the standard track. To make this possible, an interface car is interposed, which has standard gauge buffers on the side of the BLS locomotive and the automatic coupling of the train on the side of the control car.
About the model: Bemo took this special train as a model and produced the complete train as an H0m, H0 AC and H0 DC version. This model of the 181 railcar in H0m is characterized by its many details, versatile lighting and a design exactly based on the original. The lighting functions include an illuminated train destination display on the front, the illuminated driver's cab, interior lighting and the headlights. All models of the train set are available in H0m, and as H0 AC and DC versions. The interface car is also available in H0 gauge, which connects the locomotive and train set on the standard gauge.
