About the model: Up to now, two main problems have stood in the way of a connection between Interlaken and Montreux. Firstly, different track gauges are used in the two towns and, in addition, different platform standard heights are applied. As a result, the two towns were only connected by detours via other sections of track and at least one change of train. However, this changed in December 2022. A direct connection from Montreux to Interlaken via Zweisimmen, which has a special technical feature, was put into operation. The basic track and platform situation had not changed, which is why a different solution was found. In Zweisimmen, which is approximately halfway along the line, the carriages are converted at slow speed. The wagons are supported by lateral roller supports on the bogies, while the bogies are widened for standard-gauge operation and the wagon bodies are adapted to the respective platform height. In addition, a BLS Re 465 electric locomotive is added to the train set as a drive unit with the aid of an interface wagon. The interface car is needed because it has two different couplings and can thus be connected to the electric locomotive as well as to the control car of the main train.

About the model: Just as on the original line, the wagons are on the move with different gauges, they are also on the model railroad. Bemo has decided to give this special train versions in H0m narrow gauge, H0 direct current and alternating current. The model of the interface car is only available as an H0 standard gauge version, as it is also only used on the original line on the standard gauge track. This model of the interface wagon has an accurately reproduced interior, which can be excellently staged with retrofittable interior lighting. As the car is already prepared for the installation of such lighting, the installation is considerably simplified. The model is visually impressive with printing that is confusingly similar to the original and an equally accurate design.
