Brawa 40954 steam locomotive BR 01 der DRG, Ep. II (digital with Sound) Product Details
BRAWA presents an H0 model of the DRG class 01 steam locomotive with road number 01 201 Rbd Dresden; Bw Dresden-Altstadt from Era II. The locomotive impresses with its many lovingly placed details and features, making it a unique model and a highlight on any model railroad layout. The model has lighting appropriate for the era , close coupling between the locomotive and tender and filigree driving and coupling rods made of metal.
Note on the minimum radius of the BR 01: The models of the BR 01 steam locomotive are technically suitable for operation from a minimum radius R 360 mm. For optimum running characteristics, we recommend use from R 420 mm.
Information about the prototype: The Rbd Köln was assigned locomotives 01 192 - 198 for traffic on the Rhine quite late, in 1936/37. 01 193 was accepted on 21.12.36 and assigned to the Bw Deutzerfeld. The locomotives are also assigned to the legendary "Rheingold Express", which they take over from the class 18.5. Since 1930, the Offenburg depot has been hauling it with 01 along the Upper Rhine to Basel. In Cologne, 01 193 also survives the war and arrives in Hamm in 1948. Here it runs with numerous sister locomotives on the east-west axis Aachen - Hanover until 1959 and is then transferred to Paderborn. In 1960, it receives a new high-performance boiler at Nied. After only five years, it is transferred to Rheine in 1964, as from Paderborn it turns at Kassel and to the north at Bremen, Emden and Oldenburg. For service in the Netherlands, the Rheine 01s often have a tender 2'2T30. The increasing allocation of 01.10 makes the 01 redundant, 001 193-2 is already withdrawn on 21.06.68. Gustav Ahrens GmbH dismantles it at Essen-Rellinghausen in September and October 1969.
