Description

Brawa 51142 H0 Reisezugwagen 2. Klasse Bmhe „Städteexpress“, DR, Ep. IV Product Details

Brawa 51142 H0 2nd class Bmhe "City Express" passenger coach, DR, Era IV

Are you looking for a passenger coach that brings the typical DR city express traffic in Era IV credibly to your H0 layout? The Brawa 51142 H0 2nd class Bmhe "Städteexpress" passenger coach, DR, Era IV is designed for precisely this area of use and complements prototypical passenger train compositions with a striking representative of the so-called "long Halberstadt". Due to its clear assignment to the DR and its characteristic design, this model is ideally suited for all those who would like to enrich their passenger service with a harmonious and historically interesting car.

Prototype with a long and varied history of use

The prototype of this passenger coach was used for many years in different areas of operation. Various modifications, particularly to the WC facilities, later led to different substructure types. This alone shows that these coaches were further developed in everyday operation and adapted to new requirements. The first route on which the new coaches were used was the Leipzig-Chemnitz line, which was declared a RegionalSchnellBahn. The BR 232 locomotive was used here.

As the DR continued to close down lines and replace them with railcars, the coaches were also used by stations in the old federal states. They were mostly used with the class Bybdzf 482 driving trailers rebuilt from 1995 onwards in push-pull service with ZWS. In the former DR area, the class 112, 143, 219 and 234 in particular were used for this purpose. Many were taken over by the Hungarian State Railways. At DB AG, Eisenach-Halle is one of the last lines on which the "long Halberstadt" cars are used. This car therefore represents a passenger train design with a remarkably long history of use.

Coherent design for DR passenger service

The model is designed in H0 scale and is assigned to Era IV. The DR railroad company and the road number 51 50 21-43 834-3 give the car a clearly defined design. With a length over buffers of 303 mm, the passenger coach has an impressive presence in the train set and brings out the typical effect of this design particularly well. Especially in longer sets, this car unfolds its prototypical appearance and ensures a harmonious overall picture.

The model version of the car also has numerous features that significantly enhance the overall impression. The faithful reproduction of the bogies, precisely fitted windows and printed window frames ensure a clean and convincing look. This is complemented by a period-appropriate interior design, which also gives the interior of the car the right character. The fine printing and paintwork effectively round off the appearance and make the model attractive both in operation and in the collection.

Fine details for a convincing fleet of cars

The eye-catching features include the sprung rubber bead at the transition, extra steps, the extra air heating on the carriage floor and free-standing grab rails. Added to this is the extra generator attached to the bogie, which gives the model an even more three-dimensional appearance. The preparation for interior lighting also opens up the possibility of integrating the car into the layout even more atmospherically. Together with the close-coupling kinematics, the result is a passenger coach that is designed for harmonious use in prototypical train formations.

If you would like to add a characteristic DR passenger coach to your H0 layout, the Brawa 51142 H0 2nd class Bmhe "Städteexpress" passenger coach, DR, Ep. IV is a convincing choice. This model combines the interesting history of the "long Halberstadt" with a detailed design and thus provides an authentic impression of passenger transportation in Era IV. Add this striking car to your set and bring a piece of city express to your layout.
