With the ESU 31431 H0 diesel locomotive KG230 in the ThyssenKrupp version, ESU brings a real highlight of industrial railroad history to the model tracks. The two-axle diesel hydraulic locomotive impresses with its robust technology, precise detailing and state-of-the-art digital functions. Depicted in prototype condition from around 2004, the model is ideal for Era V scenarios involving factory railroads, industrial logistics and port transshipment points. The deep blue paintwork with fine engravings also gives the locomotive a powerful presence on any layout.

A prototype with history - the Deutz KG230 B

The KG230 was developed by Deutz from 1962 and was aimed at the performance class of the well-known Köf III. With an air or water-cooled Deutz diesel engine and a robust cardan shaft drive, it was ideal for works and connecting railroads. The variant that was realized for ThyssenKrupp in the model is equipped with a water-cooled six-cylinder engine - particularly suitable for sensitive industrial environments. Many of these locomotives are still in use today - proof of their longevity and reliability.

Model with the finest technology and impressive sound

The model has a robust metal chassis and finely detailed plastic superstructures. The locomotive is powered by a powerful bell-shaped armature motor with a flywheel. The factory-fitted LokSound 5 decoder provides true-to-original sounds for both motor variants (air and water-cooled). Switching between two-wire and center conductor operation is safe and convenient using a slide switch on the locomotive floor.

Fully equipped for operational realism and playing fun

The model offers a variety of digital functions: A smoke generator synchronized with the sound, brake sparks when braking sharply, a separately switchable head signal as well as cab, driver's desk, shunting and running gear lighting. In addition, digital, height-adjustable shunting couplers are installed - ideal for realistic coupling processes with standard drawbar couplers. An engine driver figure and two different aerials are also included.

High-quality workmanship down to the smallest detail

Openwork fan grilles, free-standing grab rails, inset steps and intricate details on the running gear underline the high quality of the model. The multi-colored driver's cab with a view through provides additional depth and realism. The compact dimensions (clearance: 92.3 mm) make the locomotive ideal for factory and small railway scenarios on any H0 layout.
