Fleischmann 7170025 N steam locomotive Serie 232 TC, SNCF, Ep. III, DC-Digital Product Details
Series 232 TC steam locomotive, SNCF, Era III, DC-Digital: A high-quality model from Fleischmann
The Series 232 TC steam locomotive of the French State Railways (SNCF) is an outstanding model developed for N-gauge layouts. This locomotive combines historical authenticity with modern technology and is equipped with a permanently soldered digital decoder at the factory. With a die-cast metal chassis and the authentic design with a round roof, the model meets the highest standards of quality and precision. With a length over buffers of 93 mm, the locomotive fits perfectly into Era III model railroad layouts.
The prototype: The 232 TC series
The 232 TC series is the French designation for the class T 18, which was built by the Vulcan works between 1915 and 1918. After the First World War, the SNCF took over 27 units from the Reichseisenbahnen in Alsace-Lorraine. Thanks to their top speed of 100 km/h, the generous water reservoir and the outstanding running smoothness, these locomotives were particularly suitable for fast suburban traffic.
The 232 TC was stationed in Strasbourg, Haguenau, Sélestat, Colmar and Mulhouse and was used in SNCF scheduled service until 1966. These locomotives are a symbol of the combination of German engineering and French railroad tradition.
Fleischmann: precision and innovation
Fleischmann is known for its high-quality models, which impress with their attention to detail and technical sophistication. The 232 TC series model is equipped with a permanently soldered digital decoder that supports the DCC standard. The combination of a powerful 3-pole motor, a robust die-cast metal chassis and a changing 2 headlights makes this locomotive a highlight on any model railway layout.
Technical details and functions
The locomotive is designed for N scale 1:160 and has its own coupling. The minimum radius is 192 mm, which means that the locomotive can also be used on layouts with tight curves without any problems. Three powered axles and a traction tire axle ensure excellent traction. The 2 headlights change depending on the direction of travel and provide realistic lighting scenarios. Thanks to the factory-installed DCC digital decoder, the locomotive is perfectly suited for operation on digital layouts.
