Fleischmann 7560032 N Electric locomotive 101 003-2, DB AG, Ep. V: Perfection on a scale of 1:160
The Fleischmann 7560032 N electric locomotive 101 003-2 represents modern model railroad technology at its best. This Deutsche Bahn AG (DB AG) locomotive from Era V is a true masterpiece of detailing and technology, combining the advantages of the famous 101 class in one model. The locomotive, a symbol of innovation in the 1990s, is not only an aesthetic highlight, but is also technically superbly equipped to enrich even the most demanding model railroad layouts.
The prototype: The Deutsche Bahn class 101
The class 101 was developed to replace the legendary class 103. With state-of-the-art three-phase asynchronous motors and single-axle drive, the class 101 achieved a continuous output of 6,400 kW and a starting tractive effort of 300 kN. Its top speed of 220 km/h made it one of the most powerful locomotives of its time. A total of 145 units were built between 1996 and 1999, with the first three locomotives, including the 101 003-2, being delivered in a characteristic oriental red livery.
The 101 series was intended in particular for use in high-quality express train services and was mainly used in InterCity and Interregio services. The locomotives of this class had a decisive influence on the appearance of Deutsche Bahn in Era V.
Fleischmann - quality and innovation in model making
Fleischmann has been one of the leading manufacturers of model railroads for decades. With the electric locomotive 101 003-2 in N scale, Fleischmann is once again setting standards in terms of precision, quality and attention to detail. The model impresses with its exact reproduction, robust technology and versatile application possibilities on analog and digital layouts.
Era V: The era of Deutsche Bahn AG
Era V (1990-2006) was characterized by the merger of the Deutsche Bundesbahn and the Deutsche Reichsbahn to form DB AG. During this time, numerous modernizations and innovations were introduced that had a lasting impact on the appearance of German rail transport. The oriental red paint scheme of the early class 101 symbolizes this transitional period before the traffic red paint scheme became the standard.
