As the successor to the legendary Crocodiles, the SBB procured the Ae 6/6 series from 1952 as a universal locomotive for use on the Gotthard Railway. With a total of 120 units built and an output of 4,300 kW, they were the backbone of freight and express train services for decades. Each locomotive was given its own coat of arms - the model shows the "Aargau" canton locomotive with the corresponding coat of arms on the front.

Detailed model with technical revision

Fleischmann has fundamentally revised this model: It has a newly developed motor, filigree pantographs with innovative attachment, separately applied components and fine etched parts such as the windshield wipers. The LED headlights are designed with Swiss light change. A Next18 interface enables uncomplicated digitization.

With four driven axles, two traction tires and a flywheel, the model impresses with its powerful and smooth driving characteristics. Thanks to the NEM 355 coupler with close coupler link, it can also be used reliably on tight radii from 192 mm - ideal for long Swiss passenger or freight trains.
