ES 64 U2 - internationally proven and modernized

In the fall of 2023, the MAV Group leased 15 modern ES 64 U2 locomotives from Akiem to replace the outdated V43 fleet. The locomotives originally came from MRCE, are equipped with ETCS and are approved for use in Hungary, Austria, Germany, Romania, Croatia and Serbia - ideal for cross-border operations.

Detailed model for analog operation

Fleischmann supplies the locomotive in the current MÁV design with three pantographs - just like the prototype. Fine engravings, precise paintwork and filigree pantographs make this model a visual highlight. The LED headlights change depending on the direction of travel and a Next18 interface allows easy digitalization.

Reliable technology and digital upgrade possible

A 3-pole motor, four driven axles, two traction tires and a flywheel ensure powerful and smooth running characteristics. The locomotive is designed for analogue operation, but can be subsequently digitized via the NEM 651 interface - also suitable for use with the Z21 driver's cab.
