Fleischmann 7570091 N E-Lok Rh 1116 088-6 ÖBB Ep.VI DC-Sound Product Details

Fleischmann 7570091 N Electric Locomotive Rh 1116 088-6 ÖBB Ep. VI DC Sound

Are you looking for a modern electric locomotive for your N-gauge model railroad layout that combines Austrian passenger and freight service with authentic sound features and modern digital technology? The Fleischmann 7570091 Rh 1116 088-6 of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) will delight you with its characteristic Taurus design, its up-to-date operational appearance featuring new pictograms and ETCS markings, and a factory-installed onboard sound decoder.

As an Era VI model, the locomotive represents modern Austrian rail transport. With its powerful drive technology, digitally controllable light and sound functions, and the option to use the Z21 cab, the Rh 1116 is ideal for a variety of passenger and freight trains on your N-gauge layout.

Fleischmann Rh 1116 088-6 – Modern “Taurus” of the Austrian Federal Railways

With the entry into service of the first Taurus locomotive of the 1016 series in the summer of 1999, the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) began a comprehensive modernization of its electric locomotive fleet.

The new universal locomotives were developed for versatile use in high-quality passenger service and heavy freight transport. In addition to the single-system version of the 1016 series, the ÖBB also procured the 1116 series as a high-performance dual-system locomotive.

These locomotives can operate on both European AC systems: 15 kV at 16.7 Hz and 25 kV at 50 Hz. This makes them particularly well-suited for international rail transport and enables cross-border train journeys without the need for time-consuming locomotive changes.

By 2006, a total of 282 Class 1116 electric locomotives had been put into service. With a power output of 6,400 kW and a maximum authorized speed of 230 km/h, they are among the most powerful all-purpose locomotives of the Austrian Federal Railways.

Current operational condition with ETCS markings

The Fleischmann 7570091 depicts electric locomotive 1116 088-6 in its current operational condition. Particularly distinctive are the new pictograms and the ETCS markings, which indicate the prototype’s modern technical equipment.

ETCS stands for the European Train Control System, a European train control system that enables uniform and safe train control across national borders.

With its modern design, the Rh 1116 088-6 is a perfect match for current Austrian passenger and freight cars. The striking Taurus front and its distinctive appearance make this electric locomotive an attractive centerpiece on any N-gauge model railroad layout.

Factory-installed sound decoder with prototypical sound functions

A special highlight of the Fleischmann 7570091 is the factory-installed onboard sound decoder. This enables digital control of the locomotive and offers prototypical sound functions that can be individually activated in digital operation.

The integrated sound effects create a particularly vivid model railroad experience and bring the characteristic atmosphere of a modern Taurus electric locomotive to your layout.

In addition, the model features digitally switchable high beams. The three-light headlight, which changes direction depending on the direction of travel, along with two red tail lights, is equipped with LEDs and provides realistic lighting while the locomotive is in motion.

A Z21 cab is also available for the 1116 series. When used with a compatible Z21 controller, it enables a particularly engaging and prototypical operation of the locomotive.

Three-pole motor with flywheel and all-axle drive

Power is provided by a three-pole motor with a flywheel. This combination ensures smooth running and pleasant handling on the N-gauge model railroad layout.

All four axles of the electric locomotive are powered. Two traction tires enhance traction and provide excellent performance when hauling longer passenger and freight trains.

The Fleischmann Rh 1116 088-6 features NEM 355 coupler sockets with close-coupling kinematics. This allows the locomotive to be easily combined with compatible N-gauge passenger and freight cars.

With a length over buffers of 121 mm and a minimum operating radius of 192 mm, the Taurus is also suitable for more compact N-gauge model railroad layouts.

Ideal locomotive for modern ÖBB passenger and freight trains

The Fleischmann Rh 1116 088-6 pairs particularly well with modern passenger cars from the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB). The Fleischmann Eurofima cars from Era VI, with part numbers 6260105, 6260106, 6260107, 6260108, and 6260109, are an excellent addition.

Together, they create diverse Austrian passenger trains, such as those found in international long-distance service.

The 1116 series is also highly versatile in freight service. Whether hauling container trains, tank car trains, or mixed freight trains—this electric locomotive offers numerous possibilities for realistic digital model railroad operation.

For collectors of modern ÖBB locomotives, the sound version with current markings is also an attractive addition.

Experience modern Austrian rail transport with prototypical sound! Get the Fleischmann 7570091 Rh 1116 088-6 from the ÖBB with an onboard sound decoder and expand your N-gauge collection with a powerful Taurus electric locomotive from Era VI featuring digitally controllable light and sound functions.
