ICE 1 - the beginning of a new era in rail transportation

High-speed rail travel in Germany began in 1991 with the ICE 1. With a speed of 280 km/h and a new standard of comfort, the train set new benchmarks in long-distance transportation. To mark its 30th anniversary, the 401 086 multiple unit was given a special livery - as a tribute to three decades of modern mobility on the rails.

Four-part train set in anniversary design

The set consists of a motorized power car (class 401.0), a 1st class car (801.8), a 2nd class car (802.8) and a non-motorized power car (401.5). Both power cars have the special "30 Years of ICE" paint scheme. The train is finely detailed, equipped with interior details, and prepared for digital operation.

Technology and sound at the highest level

The powered railcar has four powered axles, two traction tires, a flywheel and a Next18 digital decoder with prototypical IGBT sound. The LED headlights and taillights can be switched depending on the direction of travel. Interior lighting can be retrofitted using item numbers 944701 and 945301.
