DRG E88.2 with early electric locomotive characteristics

The ongoing electrification of the Westbahn created a need for powerful electric freight locomotives. The electrical components for all 22 locomotives were supplied by AEG. The mechanical components for the first 15 units were manufactured by the StEG Locomotive Factory, while the remaining 7 units were built at the Floridsdorf Locomotive Factory.

The locomotives were used by the Deutsche Reichsbahn as the E88.2. In the early 1950s, they returned to Austria and continued to be used there as the Class 1280. By 1976, all of the locomotives had finally been taken out of service. The E88 204 is therefore an exciting model for anyone who wants to depict early electric freight train traction in H0 scale.

AC-Digital with LED light changes

The model is designed for the 3L AC system and is already digitally equipped. Sound is not included in this version. The white headlight switching provides an appropriate lighting effect during operation, while LED bulbs offer clear and long-lasting illumination.

For DRG freight trains and Era II scenes

The NEM-compliant coupler housing with KK kinematics allows for seamless integration into compatible H0 train sets. This makes it easy to combine the locomotive with historic freight cars and classic Reichsbahn formations.
