Kato 10-2025 N ICE 4/BR 412 XXL - 6-piece supplementary set "Federal Republic of Germany"

To mark the 30th anniversary of the ICE in 2021, the ICE 4 with vehicle number 9457 was ceremoniously christened the "Federal Republic of Germany" by the Federal President. A special train that is also visually different from other ICEs - instead of the classic red stripe, it has since been adorned with the German flag. This version is a so-called ICE XXL, as the train consists of a total of thirteen carriages. The supplementary set from Kato presented here extends the basic train by six additional carriages and brings more realism to the N model railway layout.

Technical details of the model

The set is designed on a scale of 1:160 (N gauge) and is characterized by a highly detailed replica. A motorized power car is included in both the basic set and this add-on set. The five-pole motor with flywheel mass ensures smooth and powerful running characteristics. The train has a white/red light change depending on the direction of travel and is capable of double traction via the coupler in the front flap.

Digitalization and lighting prepared

The model is prepared for digital operation. Suitable decoder and sound decoder sets from Zimo (item no. K10950-D1/D2/DS) are available separately. The model can also be equipped with Kato components (K11-213 and K11-214) for interior lighting in order to achieve an even more realistic representation on the layout.
