Historical background
The ET 9101 was put into service by the Deutsche Reichsbahn in 1935 and served as a luxurious observation railcar. With its large panoramic windows, it provided passengers with spectacular views of scenic routes. After the Second World War, it was owned by DB as ET 9101, mainly in southern Germany and later also in Austria, Switzerland and what was then Czechoslovakia. Only a serious accident in 1995 ended its service - since then it has been preserved as a museum in the Augsburg Railway Park.
Compatibility & expansion options
The railcar is compatible with all standard TT track systems. Thanks to its digital equipment and the option to use overhead lines or as a trailer car, it can be flexibly integrated into a wide variety of layout scenarios - from electrified main line networks to historic branch lines.
