Kres 54001362 TT Schienenbus LVT 172 132-3 + LVT 172 171-1, KSR, Ep. III, DC-Sound Product Details
Kres rail bus set LVT 172 132-3 + 172 171-1 - TT, KSR, Era III, DC sound
The Kres 54001362 is a high-quality 2-part rail bus set consisting of the powered LVT 172 132-3 and the non-powered sidecar LVT 172 171-1 from Köstner Schienenbusreisen (KSR). This set shows the vehicles in the replica of Era III, but in the Era VI version. With an integrated digital decoder and sound, this model is an absolute highlight for all lovers of nostalgic rail buses - technically modern, visually classic.
Design & workmanship
The two railcars are prototypically implemented and impress with finely engraved surfaces, clean printing and a realistic color scheme in the style of the 1960s. The interior is detailed and visibly illuminated by the integrated LED interior lighting. The vehicles have a red/white (LED) light change depending on the direction of travel. The dummy side car is just as finely detailed as the powered main car, creating a harmonious train appearance.
Technology & equipment
The model is designed for 2-wire direct current operation (DC) and has digital control with an integrated sound decoder. The sound ensures a realistic driving experience - from the characteristic engine running to the braking noise. The vehicle has LED lighting, interior lighting and realistic light changes. The sidecar (LVT 172 171-1) is designed as a dummy without drive, but is visually fully equipped. The set offers smooth running characteristics and is suitable for radii from 286 mm.
Historical background
The LVT 172 light railcars (also known as the "Ferkeltaxe") were a characteristic vehicle of local transport in the GDR from the 1960s onwards. The set depicted here shows vehicles from Köstner Schienenbusreisen (KSR), which used these railcars for excursions and special services until 2023. The prototype is therefore a successful mixture of railroad history and lively museum operation.
Compatibility & possible uses
The model in TT scale (1:120) is perfect for use on branch lines, museum railroads or nostalgic layouts. Thanks to the integrated sound and realistic LED lighting, it is equally suitable for driving and for display in the showcase.
Purchase arguments & target group
This set is aimed at collectors, model railroaders and nostalgia fans who value authentic replicas with modern digital technology. With its integrated sound, LED lighting and excellent workmanship, it is both a technical and visual highlight for any TT layout.
