These sensitive, coiled steel coils must be protected from moisture in order to prevent corrosion damage. The solution: the Shis 708, marketed as Shimmns 708 from 1987. In the original, the three hood segments can be moved to allow access to the five loading recesses in the wagon floor. A total of over 2,500 units were built for the Deutsche Bundesbahn, plus many more for European railroad companies. The Lenz model is based exactly on this prototype - with accurate implementation in 0 gauge and matching DB Cargo Epoch V lettering.
