G (narrow gauge) - Art.No. 20480

Model of a narrow gauge steam locomotive of the class 99.6 (former Saxon VIk) of the DR. True to original colouring and lettering of epoch III. Drive with two powerful ball-bearing bracket motors, traction tires. Equipped with an mfx/DCC decoder with many light and sound functions such as peak light changing with driving direction, firebox lighting, driver's cab lighting, driving noise, whistle and much more. Built-in smoke generator with wheel-synchronous steam output. Many applied details, driver's cab doors and smoke chamber door to open. Length over buffer 41 cm.

LGB 20480 - DR narrow gauge steam locomotive class 99.64-65 (former Saxon VI K) Shortly before the end of the First World War, the Heeresfeldbahnen ordered 15 fivefold coupled hot steam tender locomotives from Henschel in Kassel. In November 1918 the E-Kupplers were ready for collection at Henschel, but on 11 November 1918 the armistice was agreed and so they came too late for a war mission. Since the Sächsische Staatsbahn required powerful locomotives for its 750 mm narrow-gauge lines with steep gradients, it spontaneously took over the 15 locomotives at a unit price of 92,000 Reichsmark as class VI K and assigned them the numbers 210-224. Although the VI K with its five coupled axles was able to develop around 50 % more power than the IV K and, thanks to the side-shift capability of the first, third and fifth wheel sets, was able to negotiate even the tightest bends, it still derailed quite frequently on the weak superstructure of the Saxon lines. Therefore, measures for reinforcement and renewal had to be taken immediately on the planned operational routes. At the DRG the five-couplers received the numbers 99 641-655. Since they had proved themselves excellently after reinforcement of the superstructure, the DRG ordered 47 further machines, which were delivered between 1923 and 1927 as 99 671-717 by Henschel, the Sächsische Maschinenfabrik in Chemnitz and the Maschinenfabrik Karlsruhe. After the Second World War, ten locomotives had to be booked out as war losses. Another 14 five-couplers disappeared as booty in the Soviet Union and the 99 702 remained in Czechoslovakia. Ten more machines were added to the DB, while the DR was able to add a total of 27 to its fleet. At the DB, the 99 651 was the last of its kind to be given the computer-compatible designation 099 651 in 1968. It was taken out of service on 19 September 1969 and was then erected as a monument for many years at the former Bottwartalbahn in Steinheim/Murr. After many efforts, it finally returned to Ochsenhausen in June 2016 as a long-standing former Öchsle steam locomotive - and the only remaining specimen from the first construction series of the Saxon VI K of 1918 - to finally be parked under shelter. At the DR, seven locomotives (99 673, 678, 685, 692, 703, 713 and 715) received new welded boilers and water boxes from 1963 onwards. Seven more (99 648, 653, 654, 687, 694, 696 and 706) were thoroughly renovated as part of a general overhaul. This almost new building also provided the locomotives with a welded sheet metal frame. In addition, the drive was moved from the fourth to the third wheel set. Another new feature was a suction-air controlled compressed-air brake. After a massive narrow gauge death at the end of 1973, the DR was able to do without its locomotives.

The passenger cars 36353 and 36354, the luggage cars 30321 and 30322 as well as the observation car 32350 are suitable wagons for this locomotive.

Driving noise also functional in analogue operation.
