The Märklin 38980 rail bus brings the nostalgic local traffic of the early 1970s to your H0 layout. This two-part unit in a classic purple-red paint scheme represents the operating condition of Era IV. Consisting of the class 798 motor car (no. 798 666-4) and the class 998 cab control car (no. 998 660-5), this combination was the backbone of passenger service on German Federal Railroad branch lines for decades.

Finely detailed model with modern digital functions

The motor car is equipped with an mfx+ digital decoder and extensive sound and light functions. A controlled high-performance drive ensures smooth running, two axles are powered, supported by traction tires. The LED interior lighting fitted as standard and the direction of travel-dependent headlights with red marker lights can be used conventionally and controlled digitally.

Lighting, buffer storage and coupling technology

The driving trailer is also equipped with interior lighting and LED head/tail lights. The light can be switched digitally, the headlights on the motor car can be deactivated separately on both sides. The current-carrying coupling drawbar with sliding guide ensures a reliable connection between the two vehicles. A buffer storage unit ensures uninterrupted operation at critical track sections.

Continuous view and optional extension
