Märklin 72442 Bremsmodul Product Details
Märklin 72442 Brake Module
For realistic signal stops in digital operation, controlled deceleration is significantly more effective than an abrupt stop. The Märklin 72442 Brake Module enables the controlled stopping of digital locomotives with high-performance drives at signals, thereby ensuring greater realism on the model railroad layout.
Controlled Stopping Before the Signal
The brake module is suitable for use with light and semaphore signals. It features connections for a two-arm light signal and the required three track sections within the signal zone. The module is controlled either via a k 83 decoder or via a conventional 7272 or 72720 control panel.
The function corresponds to that of the 72441 brake module, but it features new plug connections. This allows the module to be seamlessly integrated into compatible Märklin layout designs.
Three isolated track sections for safe operation
Three isolated sections are required for operation. The first section is the transition zone and corresponds approximately to the length of a ski sharpener, about 70 to 90 mm. The second section is the actual braking zone, where the locomotive comes to a controlled stop. This section should be at least 40 to 50 cm long, although the braking distance also depends on the braking deceleration setting of the locomotive decoder.
The third section is a safety section in which the operating voltage is shut off. This prevents a locomotive from accidentally slipping past the signal zone. For locomotives with unregulated digital or Delta electronics, behavior may vary; therefore, the module is primarily recommended for regulated high-power drives.
Practical Accessories for Digital Signal Control
The Märklin 72442 Brake Module is a useful addition for model railroaders who want to equip their digital layout with realistic signal stops. It supports smoother, more prototypical operation while also increasing safety in the signal zone.
Enhance your Märklin layout with this brake module and create signal stops featuring controlled deceleration, clear section separation, and reliable control.
