Minitrix 16032 N Class 03 263 Steam Locomotive, DB, Era III, Digital Sound: Movie Star on a Long Journey

The Minitrix 16032 class 03 steam locomotive is a real highlight for fans of classic express steam locomotives on the German Federal Railroad. The 03 263 locomotive shown here with Wagner wind deflectors was not only a technical masterpiece, but was also known as a movie star - it played a central role in the German Federal Railroad advertising film "Little Man on a Great Journey". The model shows the locomotive in operating condition around 1952, in the middle of Era III, and impresses with its precise realization and extensive equipment.

The running gear of the locomotive and tender as well as the tender body are made of robust die-cast metal, which gives the model a high dead weight and excellent running characteristics. Drive is via the tender, three axles are powered, one is fitted with traction tires. A built-in digital decoder with sound generator (mfx and DCC-capable) ensures an authentic driving experience. The close-coupled connection between the locomotive and tender guarantees a prototypical appearance and excellent tractive power.

The locomotive is also well equipped in terms of lighting: Driver's cab and engine lighting as well as the head signal are realized via warm white LEDs. The highlight is the digitally controllable firebox flickering, which uses red-orange LEDs to create a particularly realistic atmosphere. A new smokebox door with lowered license plate underlines the finely crafted model look. The NEM coupler pocket is located at the tender end and the model is designed for a length of 150 mm over buffers.

As a special extra, retrofit kits for shunting steps, rail scrapers and a front coupling with holder are included - as are five Preiser figures: Peter, dog Schwups, stoker, train driver and engine driver. This allows the movie scene or an atmospheric diorama to be perfectly recreated.
