Description

NPE NA 99162 H0 Peterbilt 281 Confidential Tank Trailer from USATC Germany Product Details

NPE NA 99162 H0 Peterbilt 281 “Confidential” with USATC Germany Tank Trailer

Would you like to showcase an extraordinary U.S. vehicle with historical and cinematic significance on your H0 layout? The NPE NA 99162 Peterbilt 281 “Confidential” with USATC Germany tanker trailer is an impressive model of a legendary American truck, combining film history with detailed model-making.

The Peterbilt 281 is one of the most famous classic U.S. trucks. In this version, it pulls a tanker trailer and is depicted as a vehicle of the USATC (United States Army Transportation Corps). This combination makes the model a special eye-catcher in any collection or on a themed model railroad layout.

A US Truck Rich in Tradition: Peterbilt

The Peterbilt company was founded in Oakland in 1939 and quickly became one of the leading manufacturers of high-quality trucks in the United States. To this day, the brand stands for innovative technology and high-quality craftsmanship.

Among its technical features were cabs that could tilt 90°, an aluminum riveted construction, and early sleeper cabs for long-haul drivers. Many of these innovations had a lasting impact on modern truck manufacturing.

Film History on Wheels

The Peterbilt 281 “Confidential” became known worldwide through a 1971 television movie, which was later released internationally in theaters in 1973. The work of a director who would later become world-famous turned the menacing tanker truck into an iconic figure in film history.

Several identical vehicles were used for the filming. One of these trucks has been preserved to this day and can be viewed at a private truck museum in North Dakota.

A Special Model for Collectors

The model replicates a Peterbilt 281 with a tanker trailer from USATC Germany. Thanks to its characteristic design and the striking combination of tractor and tanker trailer, the truck looks particularly impressive in 1:87 scale.

The tanker truck is closely modeled after its historical counterpart and represents an exceptional collector’s item for enthusiasts of American commercial vehicles and movie vehicles.

Exclusive Model Project

This model will only be produced if there is sufficient demand. Production is contingent upon a sufficient number of economically viable pre-orders, which gives the model a particularly exclusive character.

For collectors and enthusiasts of American trucks, the Peterbilt 281 “Confidential” offers an exciting combination of technological history, film culture, and high-quality model building.
