The Piko 21023 electric locomotive E669.1 brings the heavy freight train electric locomotive of the Czechoslovakian State Railroad (ČSD) to the H0 layout for AC operation. With a factory-installed PluX22 sound decoder and mfx® compatibility, this new model from PIKO offers everything that modern digital railroaders expect: realistic soundscapes, detailed interior and exterior views and an authentic driving experience in the style of Era III.

Powerful technology for heavy loads - inspired by the original

The E 669.1 series was created in the early 1960s to meet the need to move heavy freight trains without double traction. Manufactured by Škoda, 150 locomotives were delivered to ČSD and used in the north-eastern direct current network. After the separation of Czechoslovakia in 1993, the locomotives remained with the Czech railroads, where they were continued as class 181. Some are still active today at ČD Cargo - an impressive example of technical longevity.

Digital highlight with extensive lighting functions

This AC version is equipped with the PIKO TrainSound® onboard system and offers comprehensive sound equipment. Digital cab, engine room and console lighting create a realistic operating image - ideal for model railroaders who love detail. This is supplemented by the white/red light change depending on the direction of travel.

Detailed implementation with prototypical technology

Two finely crafted metal scissor pantographs, an elaborately designed roof garden, round buffers, rail scrapers and a detailed interior emphasize the high-quality overall impression. The locomotive is suitable for a minimum radius of 358 mm and is therefore highly reliable on many layout formats.

mfx®-compatible and ready for immediate use

The factory-installed PluX22 sound decoder supports the mfx® format, which enables automatic registration with the corresponding command stations. This means that the locomotive is immediately ready for use in digital AC operation - ideal for Märklin-compatible systems. The locomotive is coupled via an NEM shaft with close coupler link for a reliable connection in the train set.
