With the Piko 21723 Rh 1041, model railroaders experience a traditional electric locomotive of the Austrian Federal Railways in its best version - as a DC sound locomotive equipped with a PluX22 sound decoder at the factory. The model offers authentic sound, high detailing and precise realization of the prototype from Era IV.

The locomotive has digitally switchable cab and engine room lighting as well as realistic sound functions thanks to the built-in PIKO sound decoder. Two finely engraved metal scissor pantographs, a detailed roof garden and a prototypical design of the driver's cabs and engine room round off the model.
Historic prototype - ready for use into the new millennium
The Rh 1041 was equipped with electrical components from AEG, BBC, ELIN and SSW and was a reliable locomotive in the ÖBB network for decades. It was only taken out of service in 2003 - some examples have been preserved as museum locomotives. A prime example of technical longevity and Austrian locomotive design of the post-war period.
Compatibility & operating options
This direct current model is suitable for layouts with a minimum radius of 358 mm.
