The Piko class 383 in the design of PKP Cargo International brings a modern Vectron to your H0 DC layout. The locomotive exemplifies the internationalization of European rail freight transport and is a highlight for all those who rely on contemporary technology, current paintwork and exact model implementation.
Technology & details - digitally prepared and precisely crafted
The locomotive has a single-arm pantograph made of metal, a strikingly designed locomotive body and finely engraved bogies. The headlights change in white/red depending on the direction of travel. The model is prepared for digital operation and can be easily retrofitted with a PIKO sound decoder #56544 via the PluX22 interface.
Prototype: Vectron for Europe - Class 383 at PKP Cargo
The Siemens Vectron locomotives are used throughout Europe. As class 383, they are used by PKP Cargo International - a subsidiary of PKP Cargo, which provides cross-border logistics services in Central Europe. The locomotive with 6400 kW power is designed for a maximum speed of 200 km/h and multi-system operation.
Operating options & compatibility
The model is designed for DC systems with a minimum radius of 358 mm. The locomotive can be safely integrated into container, KLV or block trains via the NEM shaft and close coupler link - ideal for modern Era VI scenarios.
