The Piko 40264 BR VT 24 railcar is an authentic representative of German local transport from the 1950s to the 1970s and brings the classic German Federal Railroad atmosphere of Era III to your N scale layout. As a three-part unit, the model realistically recreates the appearance of the historic diesel railcar and impresses with its modern technology and high operational reliability.

Historical prototype reproduced in detail

The BR VT 24 diesel railcar was designed for regional and local transport on the German Federal Railroad and was a feature on many secondary and main lines. The PIKO model exactly reproduces the typical shapes, window divisions and color scheme and, thanks to its careful workmanship, offers a high degree of fidelity to the original on a scale of 1:160.

The three-part body provides an impressive train length of 497 mm over buffers and allows realistic train formations - ideal for the classic railroad operation of the 50s and 60s.

Modern technology for layout operation

The railcar is equipped with a powerful drive and has four traction tires that provide excellent tractive power. The LED light change in white/red depending on the direction of travel and factory-installed interior lighting make the model an eye-catcher even at dusk or at night.

Digitally prepared - easy to upgrade

The model is equipped with a PluX12 interface for use in digital operation. A sound upgrade with the matching PIKO sound decoder #46192 is easily possible, allowing the VT 24 to be experienced even more realistically.
