About theprototype: Locomotive-hauled and non-shuttled express trains are slowly but surely disappearing from the Swiss rail network. With the continuous decommissioning of the standard coaches I and II over the years, shuttle operation with the Re 4/4 fleet has also become rare. Until the 2020/2021 timetable change, the Bözberg Interregio was still considered a classic express train, in which colorful wagon material was also used. The last scheduled services of non-commuter express trains are now limited to Intercity, Eurocity and night trains from Zurich and Basel to Singen, Buchs SG and Chur. While the Re 460 fleet is now mostly used in front of commuter trains, the last trains mentioned are mostly hauled by Re 4/4s.Two colorful car sets present the Bözberg Interregio from recent years. The two sets include green EW II and EW IV coaches. For the first time, these wagon types appear with additional pictograms. EW IV coaches in experimental livery with a narrow black window strip, which can still be found occasionally today, are also celebrating their premiere.
